A pair of 18th Century Mutton chairs with striped linen upholstery and patinated oak with walnut stain.
 
The term "mutton chair" typically refers to chairs with legs carved in the os de mouton style, which means "mutton bone" or "sheep bone" in French. This design was popular in French furniture, particularly during the Louis XIII and Louis XIV periods.
