The bronze sculpture In between represents two individuals on a personal journey whose paths briefly cross each other’s. Standing at a crossroads, they struggle to decide which direction to go, as each way leads to a different outcome. By offering one another perspective, the figures are able to choose the path that is right for them. Despite the brevity of their encounter, the impression left lasts for a lifetime.
The artist Guy Buseyne’s work consists of sculptures that portray human beings in a society subject to multiple challenges, natural and man-made disasters, and who try to overcome them. The facial expressions in his designs are undefined, which enhances the universal character of the pieces and arouses a greater sense of identification in the viewer.
