Reflective minds by Guy Buseyne is a remarkable work of art, amongst others due to the combined use of glass and cast bronze. At first glance, one figurine appears to be the reflection of the other. When looking more closely, the viewer can notice that the figures are not mirrored at all. In fact, they are trying to see what is on the other side of the tinted window and in doing so, are looking each other in the eye.
Buseyne’s work consists of sculptures that portray human beings in a society subject to multiple challenges, natural and man-made disasters, and who try to overcome them. The facial expressions in his designs are undefined, which enhances the universal character of the pieces and arouses a greater sense of identification in the viewer.
