A Bonnetiere is a one-door cabinet and a half-height shelf, also called a dressing-case. This regional furniture is very often made of natural wood, and rarely painted; It's use was intended for the storage of bonnets and head-dresses, which were placed on a head of wood called marotte or sidonie. It became fashionable during the 20th century with the development of country houses.
